Configuring
Outlook Express 5 for Mac OS 9 For Your Account.

1) Open Outlook Express 5 for Mac OS 9
2) If you opened Outlook Express 5 for Mac OS 9 for the first time you should
see this:

Enter whatever name you would like to be displayed when you send e-mail
3) From here press the next arrow (>).
You should see this:

In here enter the e-mail address you are setting up. (Make sure to replace
POPaccount with the name of the pop account and YourDomain.com with your actual
domain.)
4) Next you will need to enter your POP and SMTP settings. (which would be
mail.YourDomain.com make sure to replace YourDomain.com with your actual
domain.)

5) Next you will need to enter the username and password for the e-mail account
(please note that you will need to put the full address if you are setting up an
additional account, one besides your main mail account)

6) From here you will just need to name the account you just created.
After that click Finish.

7) After this you will be able to receive mail, but you will need to change one
setting to be able to send mail. Click Tools > Accounts and then click the
account you just made and click Edit.

8) From here click the "Click here for advanced sending options" and you should
see a small box open up. From this box check the box that says "SMTP server
requires authentication" and make sure that "Use same settings as incoming mail
server" is selected as well. Make sure to click ok after changing the setting.

After this you should be able to send and receive mail from this account.
If you have problems sending try using your ISP's SMTP server.
This manual was written with Outlook Express 5 for Mac OS 9 running in
classic on 10.2.
