Configuring Mail for Mac OS X For Your Account.

1) Open Mail
2. If you are using Mail for the first time you will get this prompt.

ill out the fields with the correct info as shown below.

Make sure to replace the info shown below with the actual settings for your account
as well as your actual domain.

If you get the error below about the SMTP servers it could be due to some settings that you will need to change later or your ISP blocks external SMTP servers.

Go ahead and click Continue if you get this error.

You should get the message below, it does not matter what you choose.

Next from the mail menu click Preferences.

From here choose the account you just made and click edit.

From here click Options near the bottom.

Next, from the authentication pull down box pick password and then enter your username and password in the fields below

After you have done this press OK and make sure the new outgoing Mail Server is the one shown (it should look like mail.yourdomain.com:POPaccount@yourdomain.com) if it is click OK.

You should be able to send mail now as well as receive mail. If you still can not send mail try using your ISP's SMTP servers.
