Configuring kmail For Your Account.
For more info about setting up accounts in KMail see your help files.
1. Open KMail
2. From here you will need to go to: Settings->Configure KMail.
Click Network and then Receiving and click Add...
3. You should see something like this:
Make sure to pick POP3 and then select ok.
4. Next you will need to fill out the settings for your account.
Make sure to replace YourDomain.com with your actual domain and POPaccount with
the actual name of the e-mail address you are setting up. Once you are done
filling out the fields click ok.
4. Next go back to the Settings->Configure KMail > Network area and click on the
sending tab and then click add.
5. You may see something like this
Make sure to select SMTP and click OK.
6. Next you will need to fill out the settings on this page.
You can put anything under the name field. Make sure to replace YourDomain.com
with your actual domain and POPaccount with the actual name of the e-mail
address you are setting up. Also, make sure the "Server requires authentication"
box is checked. Make sure to put your username and password in the Login and
Password fields. Once you are done filling out the fields click ok.
7. After this you should be able to send and receive e-mail. If you are having
problems sending e-mail try this: Open Settings->Configure KMail > Identities
and click one of the ones listed there and then click Modify.
8. Next put in a name in the Your name field and an e-mail address in the Email
address field (perhaps the one you just setup.) After you are done click ok.
If you still cannot send e-mail, try using your ISP's SMTP servers.
